Wadah Amal Sdn Bhd is a subsidiary of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB),
responsible for the management and operations of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah
Complex including retail, office, event, and ancillary facilities.

The Assistant Manager – Finance will oversee daily accounting operations, provide and
manage financial reporting and forecasting, ensure regulatory compliance, and play a pivotal
role in enhancing the organization’s finance operations overall. This role requires a proactive
professional with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work
independently and lead a team to drive key financial initiatives within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Accounts Closing: Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and
annual financial closings including performing reconciliations for bank accounts,
account payable (AP), account receivables (AR) and general ledger accounts. - Preparation of Financial Statements: Compile accurate monthly, quarterly, and
annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements,
ensuring adherence to accounting principles. - Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with internal policies and
external regulations, including tax laws and financial reporting standards.
2. Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets, forecast financial
performance, and analyze variances to support strategic decision-making. - Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed analyses of costs and revenues to identify
opportunities for financial efficiency and profitability enhancement.
3. Cash and Bank Management:
- Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliation of tenant collections, credit card
payments, and direct bank transfers, etc. - Recording: Maintain proper records of cash deposits and petty cash expenses.
- Forecasting: Assist in preparing cash flow forecasts, ensuring sufficient liquidity for
operational needs.
4. Internal Controls and Audit:
- Policy Development: Assist in drafting and implementing Financial Regulations to
establish robust financial governance frameworks. - Internal Auditing: Conduct regular internal audits to assess the effectiveness of
financial controls and recommend improvements.
5. Systems Implementation and Management:
- Accounting Systems: Participate in the implementation and maintenance of
computerized accounting systems to streamline financial processes and reporting. - Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data within the
accounting systems.
6. Project Financing:
- Financial Evaluation: Assess and evaluate project and business feasibility, financing
options and funding strategies, including debt financing, internal funding and
partnership arrangements. - Forecasting and Projections: Develop financial models, cash flow projections and
investment appraisals to projects to support management and Board decision-making.
7. Collaboration and Communication:
- Cross-Functional Support: Work closely with various departments to provide financial
insights and support for operational initiatives. - Stakeholder Reporting: Communicate financial information effectively to various
stakeholders, including senior management and external parties.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field is essential. Additional
certifications, such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, etc. is advantageous. - Professional Experience: A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in finance and
accounting roles, preferably within corporate settings. Experience with computerized
accounting systems and financial regulations is crucial.
