Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah was established with 3 main principles:
As a charity medium of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu´izzaddin Waddaulah and his family members.
- As a symbol of love and care and affection of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu´izzaddin Waddaulah towards His Majesty´s subject who are always loyal and faithful to His Majesty and His Majesty´s Government.
As a symbol of formation and integration of the community and Brunei Darussalam which is peaceful and prosperous as well as for the harmony of all people according to the circumstances and appropriateness blessed by Allah Subhanahu Wata´ala.
As a conclusion, these principles are rooted in Faith, Charity and Benevolence. Faith is the medium, Charity is the care and Benevolence is the formation of the community and harmony.
