The Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Housing Scheme is specifically for the Muslim converts and the poor and destitute people. It is one of the various projects managed by Yayasan in an effort to enhance the welfare and well-being of the people in this country in line with the principles and objectives of Yayasan’s establishment.
The construction of the house was aimed at providing opportunity to Muslim converts to improve their lifestyle and allow them the space to perform their religious duties in a peaceful environment.
On Wednesday, 24 Rabiulawal 1431H corresponding to 10 March 2010, A Key Handover Ceremony for the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Housing Scheme was held at Mukim Amo, Temburong District for two Muslim converts namely Anisah binti Mohd Salleh / Achun @ Radoi Anak Achun and Siti Aidah binti Abdullah @ Siti Aidah Anak Ekin.

Each house, estimated at B$45,000.00, was built in approximately 4 months and is equipped with three bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom and a kitchen.
Since its establishment in 1996, the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Housing Scheme have built 135 houses across the nation, where 76 of the houses were for new converts in which 33 were built in Temburong District and the remaining 59 houses were for those who could not afford to build their own homes.
The ceremony was officiated by Dato Paduka Haji Ali Hashim bin Haji Daud, Managing Director of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
Also present were the Assistant Managing Directors of Yayasan, senior officers of Yayasan as well as other government officials.
