The Media Appreciation Ceremony and The Launching of The Official Website of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah

Since the establishment of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) on 7 Rabiulakhir 1413H corresponding to 5 Oktober 1992 until today, the media has played an important role in providing information on Yayasan´s development and activities to the public. Yayasan has also taken its own initiative by producing several publications such as brochure, magazine and the website.
On Saturday, 17 Zulhijjah 1430H corresponding to 5 December 2009, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) held The Media Appreciation Ceremony to appreciate the role of the media for supporting Yayasan throughout the years, which was then continued with the launching of the Official Website of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah at the multi-purpose hall, 4th Floor, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex, Bandar Seri Begawan.
The Guest of Honour, Pehin Orang Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah presented certificates of appreciation to representatives from Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB), Information Department, Borneo Bulletin, Media Permata, The Brunei Times, United Daily News, See Hua Daily News, Sin Chew Jit Poh and several active bloggers that have given support to Yayasan.
The Official Website of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah was then launched by the Guest of Honour. The website was launched to answer the calls made by the E-Government Strategic Plan 2009-2014, in which it also highlights the needs to provide accurate, updated and reliable information especially through online. In line with this, Yayasan hopes that the available information on the website will give the public a better picture of what Yayasan is all about.
At the end of the event, different types of cuisines from 5 different types of restaurants (Yayasan´s tenants) were served to the guests. It is hope that these kind of events will help to foster closer relations between Yayasan and the media for future efforts.
