The Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Housing Scheme is aimed at providing opportunities to the unfortunate ones to live a more comfortable, cleaner and safe life towards creating a peaceful and harmonious community.
On Tuesday, 15 Zulkaedah 1430H corresponding to 3 November 2009, a foundation-laying ceremony for the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Housing Scheme was held at Kampong Putat, Brunei Muara District.
The housing scheme is for Haji Nudin bin Jamadil@Jamadin, 69 years old. He is a widower and does not have any source of income except for his old pension allowance of B$200.00 a month from the Community Development Department.
At a cost of B$31,000.00, the house will have 2 bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen.
Officiating the ceremony were Dr Haji Affendy bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, a member of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Board of Directors and Dato Paduka Awang Haji Ali Hashim bin Haji Daud, Managing Director of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
Also present, officers of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Penghulu of Mukim Lumapas, village heads as well as other government agencies.
